In order to have good circulation, which is crucial for sexual functioning, eating strawberries is the way to go.  Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.  For men, this has been linked to higher sperm counts.

Having chocolate with strawberries can stimulate the libido. Chocolate contains methylxanthines, a stimulate which may act as an aphrodisiac to increase sexual desire.

Alcohol can be one of the worst things for your sex life.  Too much alcohol can result in decreased arousal and sensitivity.  Alcohol inhibits your ability to make safe decisions about sex.

Avocado is a "superfood" Superfoods are foods that are considered high in nutrients and low or free of saturated fats, artificial ingredients, additives, or contaminants.  Avocados are rich in vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties.  Avocados also contain vitamin B6, which may prevent or delay heart disease and promote better blood flow throughout the body.

Men with heart disease are twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction.  Heart disease can cause damage to the arteries.  Avocados are rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fat which helps in preventing damage to the arteries for proper functioning of the heart.  Having good circulation throughout the body is critical for a healthy sex life.

Almonds contains vitamins and minerals important for sexual health and reproduction like zinc, selenium, and vitamin E.  Selenium can help with fertility issues, vitamin E for heart health, and zinc which helps produce men's sex hormones and can boost the libido. 

Choosing foods that contain good fats, like almonds, contains omega-3 fatty acids,  which can provide good for blood flow to the sex organ.

Although meat is a good source of protein and zinc, meat tends to be high in saturated fat and cholesterol.

Eating a meat-heavy diet increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.  These risks can affect your blood circulation and sexual function.

Sweet potatoes are rich in potassium and beta-carotene found in vitamin A. 

Potassium helps fight blood pressure which helps keep the blood vessels from narrowing.  Narrowing of the blood vessels can result in erectile dysfunction.

Beta-carotene aids in preventing cellular damage due to oxidizing free radicals.  Studies indicates that vitamin A helps in male fertility and sperm health.

Zinc can aid in the increasing testosterone and aid in sperm production.  Although oysters are the number 1 source of zinc, sesame seeds would be the next choice because it is easily available.

Watermelon is low in calories and high in phytonutrients, which can potentially boost the libido.  

According to a 2008 Texas A&M research  study, the phytonutrients lycopene, citrulline, and beta-carotene found in watermelon can help aid in relaxing blood vessels and boosting your sex drive.











 FATTY FOODS - WORST

Many fried and fast foods consumed, can contain high levels of saturated and trans fat, aka "bad fats".  These fats can produce fatty plaque in the arteries, thus impeding blood flow.

Fried foods, such as French fries and other foods have been associated with increased risk of type 2 diabetes.  The oils use for frying are due to oils containing saturated fat or trans fat.   It is best to fry foods using plant oils(vegetable oils)like olive oil, corn oil, or peanut oil. 

Type 2 diabetes is known to cause sexual health problems in both men and women.

Tips

  • When plant oils are used, the best options include organic, unrefined, virgin or extra-virgin. Choose those in dark glass if possible.
  • Plant oils are best used in limited amounts for cooking, salad dressings and/or baking.  Using high amounts of any oil will likely lead to extra body fat and disease promotion.
